Zane Cooper phd research - Evolving relationships between data, energy and extraction in the Arctic
Zane Cooper’s research focused on the logistical, ideological, and historical entanglements between information infrastructures, energy production, and raw resource extraction.
In connection with Zane Cooper’s research, two workshops were organised by pedagogical head at Campus Kujalleq, Per Lykke Søndergaard, working with a-level and business students at Campus Kujalleq and teachers in South Greenland
Ayoe Kristiansen, Social science Master student from Ilissimatusarfik (University of Greenland) studying Community consultation in mining projects in South Greenland
Social science Master student from Ilissimatusarfik (University of Greenland) arrived on the 24th August to undertake research for her final year Master thesis on the mining industry in Greenland. Her visit coincides with the public consultation meeting on the Kuannersuit/ Kvanefjeld mine. She will be listening to opinions and perceptions of local residents in relation to the proposed rare earth mining projects at Killavaat Alannguat (Kringlerne) and Kuannersuit (Kvanefjeld), in South Greenland.
